WeCan Scholarship Presentation Ceremony was held offline and online simultaneously on 9 January 2021, allowing awardees, Committee members, principals, partners and parents to join. This year, we witnessed a total of 230 Scholars of the 2019/20 and 2020/21 cohorts joining the Ceremony online. The Scheme has so far benefitted 567 students, and committed over HK$40 million since its launch in 2015.
Mr Stephen Ng, Committee Chairman of Project WeCan Foundation made a keynote speech to encourage the awardees to learn how to learn and to develop critical thinking skills. Two awardees, Zachery Li and Wanika Yau were present at the Ceremony to receive the awards on behalf of their fellow students. Two graduates, Ben Yip and Sunny Law also shared their memorable moments when they participated in WeCan activities. They both encouraged their fellow scholars to actively participate in WeCan programmes to give back to WeCan and contribute to the society.
