The partnership between Harbour City and Yan Oi Tong Chan Wong Suk Fong Memorial Secondary School began in 2011. One of the initiatives in the past two years was the iPlan Mentorship Programme which brought together a dedicated group of 10 students and eight company volunteers. The programme aimed to foster students’ personal growth, self-discovery, and the development of essential skills for future careers.
The programme focused on two core themes: “Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone” and “Self-Learning.” Throughout the programme, a series of workshops were held, covering topics such as personality development and team building. These interactive sessions, facilitated by experienced mentors, provided the mentees with practical tools and skill sets to enhance their communication, collaboration, and leadership. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to gain firsthand job experience under the guidance of various professionals. This exposure allowed them to discover their potential, identify their interests, and gain a better understanding of their future career paths.
A post-programme sharing was held in April 2024. The participating students shared their extensive learnings from the programme and mentors, and expressed their gratitude to the Harbour City volunteers who generously dedicated their time and expertise as mentors. The mentors appreciated the students’ long-term commitment and encouraged them to continue their lifelong learning journey.
