Established in 2015, WeCan Scholarship Scheme provides grants for students from Project WeCan schools to pursue first degree courses in the eight UGC-funded universities and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts for four years. Starting from 2024/25, the Scheme has been broadened to cover courses under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). Each successful candidate will receive a scholarship of up to HK$25,000 per year. Renewal of the scholarship will be subject to the students’ satisfactory performance and fulfilment of volunteer hours.
WeCan scholars are also WeCan Alumni members, who will actively participate in WeCan activities as volunteers to give back to the community.
So far, a total of 887 students from WeCan schools have been awarded the scholarship, including 86 in 2024/25.
