WeCan Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2021/22 was held on 13 November 2021 at Fabrica Atrium, The Mills, and 69 students were awarded the scholarship this year.  The WeCan Scholarship Scheme has so far benefitted 636 students, and committed over HK$40 million since its launch in 2015.

The event was opened by Mr Stephen Ng, Committee Chairman of Project WeCan Foundation, and followed by a keynote speech by Mr Peter Yuen, Managing Director, Head of Investment & Sales of Savills (Hong Kong) Limited.  They congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to continue to foster the WeCan spirit and give back to the society.  Mr Ng also encouraged the awardees to think big, and see things in a broader perspective.  Mr Yuen inspired them by introducing the Six Endeavours, which is a set of basic principles essential for managing business and living a meaningful life.

Two WeCan scholars, Owen Sze and Kenneth Yeung shared their stories at the Ceremony.  Owen, a final year student of The University of Hong Kong, was grateful for Project WeCan Committee members for their encouragement and support when he first entered university with unsatisfactory academic performance.  He advised fellow scholars to be well prepared before every lesson, and shared ways to improve English language proficiency.  Kenneth, graduated from the university two years ago, was thankful for the skill sets acquired when serving as a member of the WeCan Alumni Executive Committee, which were useful and essential at the workplace.  Both encouraged their fellow scholars to actively give back to Project WeCan and contribute to the society.

At the occasion, members of WeCan Alumni showed support to their fellow scholars by producing an animated video.

Around 100 awardees, principals, teachers and parents joined the ceremony to share the happiness of the awardees.  They also joined the tour organised by The Mills after the Ceremony.
