This Summer, 134 students from 33 schools had seized the opportunity to get a taste of working in the real world by joining the Job Tasting Programme.  By offering workshops and job tasting positions, 37 supporting companies and organisations provided students with a precious opportunity to explore their vocational choices.

A series of workshops were conducted in May to strengthen students’ interview skills and guide them on writing their CVs and application letters.  Mr Ricky Wong, Committee Member of Project WeCan, and Mr Chiu Tsang-hei, Founder of My Main Stage were the guest speakers of one of our workshops.  They encouraged students to open their eyes to the trends of the job market.

After going through the normal recruitment procedures, students were selected for a 2-week internships in different job positions, ranging from a wide spectrum of industries, including food and beverage, hotel, aviation, accounting, law, property, retail, customer services and marketing.  A few joining the job shadowing programme were given the chance to follow the daily routine of a senior management staff to gain deeper understanding of their job positions and industries.  At the end of the internship, supervisors would conduct a performance appraisal to give feedback to the students.
