Job Tasting Programme 2026
Supported by 39 companies and organisations, this summer’s Job Tasting Programme welcomed 140 secondary students from 43 schools, offering them hands-on exposure to a variety of career fields.
The programme started in May 2026 with an online training session in which Ms Kelly Kong from Hays Hong Kong guided students through essential CV writing and interview techniques. Participants found the session highly practical, boosting their confidence and readiness for official interviews. Following this, WeCan scholars conducted online mock interviews, allowing students to practise and better prepare for the panel interviews that formed part of the selection process.
Following a formal recruitment process, selected students undertook 1-4 week internships across a diverse range of industries, such as food and beverage, hospitality, aviation, accounting, sustainability, real estate, retail, customer service and marketing. Others took part in a job shadowing stream, where they observed senior management and gained deeper insights into different roles and sectors.
To better prepare students for their job tasting experience, an orientation workshop titled “Workplace 101” was arranged, with Mr Andy Lo from KOS International Talent Group Limited and Ms Coco Lau from Wheelock Properties (HK) Limited covering business etiquette and communication skills. An online briefing was also held for corporate supervisors to facilitate student growth. Additionally, for students who were not placed in the internship or job-shadowing streams, Harbour City offered an alternative learning track, providing a mall tour and a basic introduction to the workplace at their training centre.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the following companies and organisations for offering these invaluable opportunities to our students:
