PolyU x WeCan Schools – Highlights of Service-Learning Activities in 2025/26
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has been a WeCan Partner since 2015, supporting WeCan schools through student-led service-learning activities under staff supervision. Here are two highlights in 2025/26 school year:
TWGHs C. Y. Ma Memorial College – Reading Carnival
On 12 and 14 January 2026, PolyU students set up a booth at the school's Reading Carnival during lunchtime. They recommended six books in Chinese and English with introductory videos and booth games focusing on writing skills and the books' key messages. The activity enhanced students’ interest in reading and sharpened their reading comprehension and writing skills.
Yan Chai Hospital Lan Chi Pat Memorial Secondary School – Bazaar Training Workshops
From October 2025 to February 2026, PolyU students facilitated a series of training workshops for the team members participating in the Young Innovators Bazaar, guiding them in product design, promotional video preparation and 3-Minute Sales Challenge rehearsals. They also facilitated brainstorming on social media promotion using trending memes and short-form video content. The workshops sparked the team's creativity while ensuring they were fully prepared for the Bazaar in March 2026.
