10 Years of Empowering Student Entrepreneurs

The Young Innovators Bazaar celebrated its momentous 10th anniversary this year, taking place at Plaza Hollywood from 22-24 March 2024. With over 1,000 students from 60 schools participating, this event offered a unique opportunity for showcasing their creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills through hands-on experience in operating a retail business. Since its launch in 2013, the Bazaar has nurtured students’ entrepreneurial spirit, aspirations and growth.

Unwavering Support from Government, Partners, and Schools

The three-day Bazaar began with a Kick-off Ceremony on 22 March 2024, officiated by the Honourable Cheuk Wing-hing, GBS, JP, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, and Mr Stephen Ng, Committee Chairman of Project WeCan Foundation. By running their own retail business, students gained invaluable experience. This would not have been possible without the unwavering support from the Government, WeCan Partners, principals, teachers, parents, volunteers, and the general public. We extend our gratitude to WeCan Partners who generously volunteered as training session speakers, judges and customers, playing a vital role in empowering and inspiring these budding entrepreneurs, enabling them to reach new heights. Their support was crucial to the success of the Young Innovators Bazaar 2024.

Nurturing Student Growth and Confidence

The Bazaar is a platform for students to showcase their talents and develop their confidence. In addition to running their business, 35 teams amazed the audience with impressive presentation skills and creative ideas during the 3-minute sales pitch competition on stage. Each team had a limited time to capture the audience’s attention and showcase their products. Students honed their presentation and communication skills while gaining confidence in expressing their ideas and promoting their entrepreneurial ventures. Through a range of comprehensive activities, the Bazaar provided a supportive environment for students to take risks, think creatively, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
