WeCan Alumni recently had the opportunity to broaden their horizons and gain valuable insights from speakers from KPMG, a global professional services firm and WeCan Partner. Held on 15 April 2024, the session aimed to help alumni transit smoothly to the workplace upon graduation. Thanks to the management and young professionals from KPMG, the event was an enlightening experience for all attending alumni.
The session kicked off with a chit-chat facilitated by Mr Daniel Hui, a graduated WeCan Scholar who has been working in the banking industry for two years. This informal setting allowed for a relaxing atmosphere where young professionals Mr Justin Ho, Assistant Manager in audit; Ms Meko Kwok, Officer in human resources; Ms Lisa Ouyang and Ms Germaine Chui, Consultant and Senior Consultant in advisory, shared their personal transition journeys and provided valuable insights. They shed light on their own experiences, offering practical advice and tips on navigating the challenges that arise when transitioning from academia to the professional world. In addition to the insights from the young professionals, the session also featured perspectives from a senior management representative, Ms Tanya Trantallis, Director in tax. This provided a unique opportunity for the attendees to understand the expectations that fresh graduates face when entering the workforce.
The session concluded with a speed mentoring session in small groups, allowing attendees to engage in meaningful conversations and seek further clarification on any topics of interest. The interactive nature of the event fostered an environment of learning and collaboration, ensuring that the alumni received the maximum benefit from their participation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the speakers for their valuable contributions. We look forward to more such engaging events in the future, as we continue to support our alumni in their personal development.
