OCBC Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (OCBC) curated a special summer experience for its partner school, Po Leung Kuk Yao Ling Sun College, blending dance and Chinese culture.  The students embarked on this unique journey starting with a visit to the Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDance) on 13 July 2024.  Here, they gained insights into the workings of the performing arts industry, witnessed the meticulous preparations for a dance performance, and observed how various elements of Chinese culture were seamlessly woven into the art form.

On 10 August 2024, the students were treated to HKDance’s performance of “Fun Ride with Big Beard – Dancing Poems 2.0”.  They had the opportunity to venture backstage, engaging in conversations with performers and staff to delve deeper into their experiences.  Additionally, they actively participated in the event alongside OCBC volunteers, assisting in fundraising efforts, capturing moments through photography, and organising performance posters.  The students enthusiastically immersed themselves in the dance performance and volunteer activities.  For them, this experience not only exposed them to a new industry and art form but also provided an opportunity to step beyond their comfort zones, interacting with individuals outside their daily circles to foster confidence and personal growth.
