Empowering Students to Grow

The Young Innovators Bazaar was held at Plaza Hollywood from 28–30 March 2025, bringing together over 1,500 students from 63 schools across the WeCan network.  The event provided a unique platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. By managing their own retail businesses, students developed their sales skills, built confidence, and explored their potential beyond the classroom.  Since its launch in 2013, the Bazaar has been widely recognised and warmly embraced by schools.

Support from Government, Partners, and Schools

The three-day Bazaar began with a Kick-off Ceremony on 28 March officiated by the Honourable Alice Mak Mei-kuen, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, and concluded with the Award Presentation Ceremony officiated by Mr Victor Tai Sheung-shing, JP, Under Secretary for Housing, on 30 March 2025.  The success of the Young Innovators Bazaar was made possible through the strong support of the Government, WeCan Partners, schools, teachers, parents, volunteers, and members of the public,  in particular WeCan Partners for contributing as speakers, judges, and customers.  Their involvement played an important role in making the programme a valuable experience for students.

More Than Awards — It’s the Experience That Counts

While awards would be presented to recognise the students’ efforts, the Bazaar’s greatest value lay in the experience gained through participation.  From developing business ideas and preparing business plans to product design, coordinating with vendors, formulating promotion strategies, and engaging with customers, students were granted the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world context.  Many of them shared that the soft skills and confidence they developed were the most rewarding aspects of the experience.
