Following the fruitful collaboration in 2023, Project WeCan has once again partnered with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation to introduce the Art! WeCan 2025 Art Education Programme to foster creativity and inspiration among WeCan students.

Over the course of six months, around 500 students from 42 WeCan schools worked with local artists to create public artworks that drew inspiration from Hong Kong’s unique culture.  During the  creation process, students explored different art forms like fabric sculpture, laser woodwork, weaving, and bunting designs, expanding their artistic horizon.

The Kick-off Ceremony of the exhibition was held on 20 May 2025, joined by committee members of the Project WeCan Foundation, WeCan Partners, representatives from the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, The “Star” Ferry Company Limited, Partnership Fund, schools and participating artists.  Student artists showcased their artworks and creative concepts to the guests during the docent tour.  Mr Stephen Ng, Committee Chairman of the Project WeCan Foundation highlighted that every young person deserves opportunities to thrive.  Through joining Art! WeCan, students were able to build confidence and resilience, as well as expand their new horizons with creativity.  He encouraged students to carry this confidence forward into their studies, careers and beyond.

Thanks to the support of The “Star” Ferry Company Limited, the art pieces created are currently exhibited at 1/F of Central Pier No. 7 and on the upper deck of the Star Ferry “Twinkling Star” (Central / Tsim Sha Tsui Service*) from 20 May to 5 June 2025, providing a unique and engaging platform for the students’ creations.  Do come to visit the pier and catch the Star Ferry “Twinkling Star” (Upper Deck) during the exhibition period to appreciate the creativity and talent of these young artists.
