In April and July 2025, 134 students participated in a transformative3 day-2 night adventure programme organised by WeCan in collaboration with Outward Bound Hong Kong.  The programme was designed to foster resilience, social competence, and personal growth of students.

For many, it was their first-time camping or tackling team challenges, making the experience exciting and impactful.  The challenges, especially water-based activities, pushed students out of their comfort zones, while practical tasks like meal preparation taught self-reliance and essential life skills.  The presence of native English-speaking instructors also provided an environment for students to enhance their communication skills.

One of the students shared at the closing session, ” I was terrified to jump into the sea because I couldn’t swim, but I finally overcame my fear and did it!”  This spirit of perseverance, along with the strong sense of community that developed throughout the journey, proved to be invaluable rewards.  Students departed not only with new skills, but also with greater confidence and independence that will last far beyond the programme.
