15 students from CCC Rotary Secondary School were being introduced to the amazing world of chess by two high school students from an international school and an EMI school, through 10 regular chess lessons conducted in English from Nov 2016 to May 2017.

With these lessons, the two young chess lovers Katrina and Brian hope to promote the chess culture and bring out the benefits of chess: enhancing mathematical aptitude, strengthening memory, improving concentration, training critical and creative thinking. Before the classes, none of the 15 students knew anything about chess, not to mention what each piece is called in English. However, with just 10 lessons, all of them had a great time competing among themselves with the skills and tactics learnt! A chess society has also been formed to continue promoting the culture in the school!
