We are grateful to ULI Hong Kong for their invaluable support in organising a 10-lesson UrbanPlan workshop at their partner school, The Salvation Army William Booth Secondary School from September to December 2023.  This experience allowed students to assume diverse roles within a developer company, providing them with insights and knowledge about the field.  Throughout the workshop, students were encouraged to consider the perspectives and needs of the community, government, environmental organisations, and the business sector.

As part of the workshop, ULI Hong Kong organised two community walks in Wong Tai Sin District, giving students the opportunity to explore their own community in greater depth.  They also invited volunteers trained in UrbanPlan from different companies who offered invaluable advice and guidance to the students, enriching their learning experience.
At the end of the workshop, students presented their final schemes, showing how they balanced city development and carbon emissions.  The students demonstrated their improved understanding of urban regeneration and their increased awareness of the different needs of various groups.  We are extremely proud of the students’ achievements and would like to extend our sincerest thanks to ULI Hong Kong and all the volunteers involved for making this workshop a resounding success.
