Fortress Hill Methodist Secondary School has collaborated with Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council on the “Assessment of Physical Literacy for Older Adults in Hong Kong” project.  Students will join this community project for the elderly in March and April 2021.  26 volunteers from the Hong Kong Retired Civil Servants Association (HKRCSA) helped the students to prepare for the service project by doing a trial run with them.  Students did a simple physical test, conducted questionnaires, took professional photos and provided a VR experience workshop for the elderly volunteers.  At the session, HKRCSA volunteers shared with students the tips of communicating with the elderly.

It was a successful activity which not only helped students learn to communicate with the elderly, but also opened up opportunities for HKRCSA volunteers to learn to communicate with students, some of whom are with special educational needs. The connection built would benefit other partnership progarmmes in the future.
