Having lingered for over a year, the pandemic has battered the global economy, not to mention the impact to Hong Kong.  Many sectors have been hammered and people’s livelihoods, including the families of our WeCan students have been largely affected.

Thanks to the Wharf Group for its generosity in donating HK$5 million through Wharf Emergency Relief Fund to Project WeCan Foundation (“Foundation”)’s newly established “WeCan-CARE! A Pandemic Relief Fund” (“Fund”), which targets to help students and families of our 76 WeCan schools who suffered from serious financial difficulties due to loss of jobs or salary cut resulting from the pandemic.

A kick-off briefing was held online on 23 March 2021 where the Committee Chairman of the Foundation, Mr Stephen Ng, officially announced the launch of the Fund.  Mr Ng believed that the Fund would be a timely relief to help students and their families get through difficult times.  Schools were thankful for the support and care Project WeCan has provided for the students.
