The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has been actively supporting HKTA The Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School (YY3) through various initiatives aiming at enhancing students’ exposure to STEM fields.

In April and May 2023, HKUST organized tutorial sessions for 20 S5 students from YY3 in Mathematics and Physics.  The sessions focused on HKDSE past paper training, providing students with valuable practice and guidance to prepare for their upcoming exams.

In another initiative, 30 students from YY3 joined the “STEM with Them programme” and learnt how to build an Arduino robot car under the guidance of 15 HKUST students.  This hands-on activity allowed the students to apply their STEM knowledge in a practical and engaging manner.  Following the robot car assembly, the students also visited the HKUST campus to familiarise themselves with the facilities.

We extend our gratitude to HKUST and its students for motivating YY3 students to strive diligently and pursue tertiary studies that can provide them with opportunities and open doors in the future.
