On 10 & 11 July 2023, the Salvation Army William Booth Secondary School had a unique and inspiring experience with our WeCan partner, Urban Land Institute Hong Kong.  More than 70 students participated in a two-day programme that included an Urban Planning Workshop and Chef Talk.

During the Urban Planning workshop, students had the opportunity to design their own land use plan while keeping concepts of sustainability and inclusivity in mind.  They acted as property developers and came up with innovative ideas that focused on creating a better future for their communities. The workshop was a great success, and the students found it both inspiring and interesting.

Students were also introduced to Chef Julian Man through the Urban Land Institute Hong Kong’s network.  The chef shared his knowledge with students studying Western Cuisine, teaching them how to arrange food on a plate. The students had the opportunity to taste and learn how to prepare fine dining cuisine during the Chef Talk, which was a unique and valuable experience for them.

We would like to thank the Urban Land Institute Hong Kong for their efforts in making this programme possible. We anticipate future opportunities to continue inspiring and educating young minds.
